GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring tripeptide-copper complex whose endogenous levels decline sharply with age. In clinically studied topical applications at 1–3%, it has been researched for wrinkle reduction, improved skin firmness, and wound-healing support, while injectable protocols at 1–2 mg subcutaneously daily have been studied for broader skin and hair effects. Mechanistically, it stands out for stimulating collagen, elastin, and glycosaminoglycan synthesis rather than acting through a single narrow pathway. It has also been shown to activate more than 300 human genes, which helps explain why interest in GHK-Cu spans skin quality, hair support, and regenerative-aging research. The evidence base is strongest for cosmetic and tissue-quality applications, and demand is accelerating as age-related peptide decline becomes a bigger focus in longevity circles.
